A visual exploration of emoji as tools for emotional expression and relationship maintenance. This experimental project visualizes one year of text message data between two people—stripped of all content except emoji. By removing names, context, and dialogue, the work isolates nonverbal patterns of interaction, revealing how tone, sentiment, and connection are conveyed through symbolic shorthand. The result is a series of abstract, data-driven compositions that transform private communication into a system of rhythms, gaps, and repeated gestures—offering a quiet meditation on language, presence, and digital intimacy.
